Arsenal Legend Urges Arteta to Seal ‘Special’ £80m Premier League Transfer

The Wolverhampton Wanderers winger is impressing at Euro 2024

Former Arsenal goalie David Seaman has tipped Pedro Neto to be a huge success at the Emirates if Mikel Arteta manages to get a successful bid in for the Wolves player.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for Neto for a couple of seasons now and with financial fair play forcing many Premier League clubs to consider bids for their players, Wolves may feel it is the right time to sell.

Wolves bought Neto from Lazio in 2019 for a reported fee of £18m, only a month after the Italian club had made his loan deal from Portugese club Braga a permanent one. But after making over 100 appearances for Wanderers across four-and-a-half seasons, the 23-year-old’s stock has risen significantly

In the past, there have been eye-watering amounts such as £80m mentioned against his name, but in reality, with his injury problems so far in his career, it would have to be lower for any club being tempted to take the gamble.

One man who thinks that gamble is worth taking, is Arsenal club legend, Seaman. He believes the Wolves man could be a key component to the squad depth at the London club.

He told Betway: “I’ve enjoyed watching Pedro Neto play for Portugal in this tournament and I would take him at Arsenal all day long.

“He’s a perfect fit as a back-up for Saka, he’s creative and he would put pressure on other players in the squad as well. I think he’s a really good player.

“I think the fee to get him would be decent, but not massive as it would reflect his injury problems. When you see him on the pitch, he’s special.”
