Chelsea set to sign 1 goal per game forward – can he do the magic in Chelsea
Today’s Evening Standard links Chelsea with a dangerous looking striker talent – Gift Orban who plays for Gent in the Belgian league.
The Nigerian only signed for his current team in January but wasted no time settling in – he’s scored a remarkable 19 goals in his 19 games for the club, including helping them reach the Europa Conference League quarter final.

Still just 20, the youngster looks a menace in front of goal and has apparently attracted attention from all over, including from Man U and Spurs as well as Chelsea. He’s got a contract until 2027 however, and any move this summer looks almost impossible, with the player apparently keen to stay put and Gent happy to keep him and watching his value skyrocket.
You can’t argue with those numbers, and there’s clearly potential there for a top player.

But it all reminds us a little too much of David Datro Fofana, who we’ve barely seen since he signed for us in January. He too was tearing up a smaller European league as a striker, only to come to Chelsea and sit on the bench – and now presumably get loaned out.
That kind of move doesn’t work for us, or for the player.
