One of Jürgen Klopp’s last signings may be on the verge of leaving Liverpool. Reports suggest that Arne Slot is eager to offload one of Klopp’s final acquisitions, with Premier League clubs showing interest.

Consequently, Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo has only played twice and might be on his way out after losing his place at Anfield. The 31-year-old joined Liverpool in August 2023 for a reported £16 million after becoming a fan favorite at Stuttgart during his Bundesliga career.

According to reports, Liverpool is now “open to offers” for Endo, with clubs across Europe reportedly interested. His contract extends until 2027, meaning Liverpool could potentially secure a significant fee for the Japan international.

During the summer transfer window, French club Marseille showed interest in Endo, but no agreement was reached.

In September, Endo expressed that he wasn’t concerned about his limited playing time while on international duty with Japan. “When the international break is over, there will be a series of games, so I’ll get more opportunities,” he stated. “You can’t just rely on 11 players when you have numerous matches. I’m sure my chance will come.”

He added, “My physical condition is fine. I’ve been training well, and I’m not worried about it. At my age, I have the experience, so getting back into games isn’t an issue. The key is to train and prepare properly.”

After Endo’s only Premier League appearance this season against Brentford, Slot affirmed that the player remains part of his plans. “It’s not just about the player; it’s also about the competition he faces,” the Liverpool manager explained. “We have many talented midfielders and players.

“We’re pleased with how Wata [Endo] is training, but he faces strong competition. I think you saw a solid performance from all three midfielders today, so it’s not only about him; it’s about the others too.
