Liverpool allowed Stefan Bajcetic and Bobby Clark to head to Austria over the summer, with Clark signing a permanent contract with the club.

One of Liverpool’s loaned players is reportedly causing issues at his loan club, leaving his teammates less than impressed.

Despite a promising start for Arne Slot at Anfield, it’s easy to overlook the minor issues arising, especially with a player currently on loan at another club.

Following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement of his departure, many of his coaching staff also left, including assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders, who took a managerial role in the Austrian Bundesliga with RB Salzburg.

He departed on good terms and has seemingly used his connections in Merseyside to attract some of Liverpool’s younger talents to the club.

Nineteen-year-old midfielder Bobby Clark made a permanent move to the Austrian side after only a few first-team appearances under Klopp.

However, it’s loan player Stefan Bajcetic who is allegedly causing problems at the club. The Spanish midfielder joined Salzburg at the end of the transfer window, but his debut was postponed due to visa complications.

Since then, he has made five appearances, starting three matches for Lijnders’ team. According to the Austrian newspaper Krone, reports indicate that Salzburg’s players are “astonished” by the manager’s decision to frequently start Clark and Bajcetic together in midfield, claiming they “have not yet impressed in sporting terms,” leading to confusion among some teammates regarding starting XI selections.

Their situation wasn’t helped by Salzburg’s 4-0 home defeat to French side Brest on Tuesday, in which Clark started and Bajcetic was a late substitute.

Despite the negative aftermath of the match, the team’s league performance remains solid, with Lijnders’ side currently sitting in 3rd place after six matches, boasting four wins, one draw, and one loss.

Adding to the drama, Bajcetic faced a fine from the club for arriving late to a training session, reportedly because he couldn’t find his boots, according to Salzburg 24 via the Liverpool Echo.

“It will be around €500 (£416.72) the day before the game,” Lijnders said during Monday’s pre-match press conference.

The 19-year-old is expected to remain in Austria for the entire season and will be aiming to regain the form that initially impressed his former manager Klopp when he burst onto the scene in 2022.
