“Liverpool Fans Question: Is Giorgi Mamardashvili the Solution After Alisson’s Injury?”

Alisson was forced off the field with an injury during Liverpool’s match against Crystal Palace. In light of this, Giorgi Mamardashvili’s contract with Liverpool has come under renewed attention. The club was relatively quiet during the summer transfer window, with Arne Slot bringing in just two players, one of whom was Mamardashvili. The Georgian goalkeeper joined from Valencia for £29 million but will remain at his current club until the season ends, as per the transfer agreement.

Reports suggest that Liverpool cannot bring Mamardashvili to Anfield in January, despite Alisson’s injury, due to the absence of a clause allowing an early transfer. Mamardashvili has played seven games for Valencia this season.

Alisson, suspected to have a hamstring injury, was replaced by Vítezslav Jaros, who made his Liverpool debut in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. With Caoimhin Kelleher unavailable due to illness, Slot may need to rely on Kelleher, who played two games this season, if Alisson’s injury is long-term. Kelleher has made 26 appearances for the club in all competitions last season. If Kelleher remains sidelined, Jaros, who kept a clean sheet after coming on, could be Slot’s option in goal.

Liverpool’s win over Palace marked their sixth victory in seven league games, continuing their strong start to the season, though Alisson’s injury is a significant concern.
