When asked about his message to the players following this devastating loss, he told Sky Sports, “There’s no message. It’s an awful defeat for us – as bad as it gets. The only way to remedy this is my responsibility. We lost all our duels, and without competitiveness, nothing will work – we were not competitive. Most of them will go on international duty. They’ll process this individually, and I’ll reflect on it when everyone returns.”
Postecoglou’s anger is justified. He has remained more composed and rational than I would have been in this situation. His team completely lost focus in the second half, and their lackluster performance allowed Brighton to take control and secure the win.
