“Shocking: Jurgen Klopp Left Unaware by Liverpool for More Than Two Years”

“Stunning: Jurgen Klopp Kept in the Dark by Liverpool for Over Two Years”
Liverpool experienced a transformative summer as Jurgen Klopp stepped down as manager following the 2023-24 season. Although his contract extended to 2026, Klopp chose to leave two years early, citing exhaustion as a major factor in his decision.
Arne Slot was appointed as Klopp’s successor, while Liverpool’s leadership also saw significant changes. Michael Edwards returned as FSG’s Director of Football, and Richard Hughes took on the role of Sporting Director.
Though Klopp initially planned to take a year off, he made headlines recently by being named Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer. According to reports from Germany, Klopp had reached an agreement with the company while still managing Liverpool.
German outlet TZ revealed that Klopp made a verbal commitment to join Red Bull as early as 2022, after a private meeting with co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz in Austria. The report confirmed that only Klopp and a select few within Red Bull knew about the deal, quoting Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, who marveled at how the arrangement remained secret for so long.
Klopp’s new role begins on January 1st, 2025, with a clause in his contract allowing him to coach the German national team if Julian Nagelsmann leaves. While speculation about Klopp managing Germany has been persistent, his new position makes this unlikely for now, though it remains a possibility in the future. For now, Klopp’s time in club management seems over unless the German national team comes calling.
