Despite being 33, Van Dijk has started the season in excellent form, alongside Ibrahima Konate, demonstrating once again why he’s considered one of the best defenders in the world. Under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool’s defense has dramatically improved, conceding just two goals in seven league matches. Van Dijk has played a crucial role in this success, and the club is reportedly willing to go all out to keep him.

Brown, who previously scouted for Manchester United, Tottenham, and Aston Villa, told Football Insider: “I’ve heard they’re desperate for him to sign. He’s got an unbeatable reputation and is still seen as the best defender in the world. Much will depend on how Liverpool performs this season, but they’ve started strong.”

Liverpool not only face the potential loss of Van Dijk but also risk losing Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold for free at the end of the season. The trio has been instrumental in taking Liverpool to the top of the league this season under Slot, raising concerns about how the club has handled their contract situations.

Van Dijk remains the leader of Liverpool’s defense, and without him, the team would not be the same. His performances this season have shown no signs of decline, and although there has been little interest from other clubs, Liverpool is already planning for the possibility of his departure.
