“Jordan Henderson Set for Surprise Liverpool Reunion in January – Report”

“Shock January Transfer Could Reunite Jordan Henderson with Liverpool – Report”
Jordan Henderson has been anything but idle since his departure from Liverpool in the 2023 summer transfer window. After being informed by Jurgen Klopp that his playing time would be reduced for the 2023/24 season, the Reds captain couldn’t resist the lucrative offer from Al-Ettifaq.
However, it appears the move may not have been the best decision. After just 17 appearances in the Saudi Pro League, Henderson made a costly switch to Ajax in the Eredivisie, a transfer that reportedly cost him millions.
Now, according to Football Insider, the 34-year-old could be on the move once again, with a potential return to Sunderland on the horizon.
The report claims that Henderson is open to re-joining his former club during the winter transfer window. Sunderland, sitting at the top of the Championship after a strong start to the season, would see bringing back their former star as a major coup. While no one player can guarantee their long-awaited return to the Premier League (absent since 2016/17), Henderson’s experience and quality would certainly boost their chances.
Additionally, a return to England could offer Henderson familiar faces, with former Liverpool teammates like Nat Phillips (on loan at Derby County) and Ben Doak (on loan at Middlesbrough) also competing in the Championship. And if Sunderland earns promotion, Henderson might find himself playing in front of the Anfield crowd sooner than expected.
