While most of the Reds’ first-team squad have been away on international duty, Harvey Elliott has been continuing his recovery from a foot fracture sustained while training with England’s under-21s last month.

Liverpool hints at Elliott’s impending return

The 21-year-old recently shared his progress on Instagram, and now another promising update has emerged. Around 7pm on Monday, Liverpool’s official X channel posted two photos of Elliott working out in the gym at the AXA Training Centre, accompanied by a simple weightlifting emoji.

When will Elliott be back in action for Liverpool?

It’s uncertain if the former Fulham star will be ready to face Chelsea next Sunday, but recent posts suggest his return isn’t far off. After only playing seven minutes under Arne Slot before his injury, Elliott will be eager to prove himself, especially with Liverpool entering a busy stretch of seven matches in 21 days, starting with Chelsea’s visit to Anfield.

His four goals and 11 assists last season show Elliott’s ability to make a significant impact for the Reds, and his versatility makes him a vital asset.

Elliott is targeting a return to action by late October (Evening Standard), meaning he could get some playing time in the coming month. When he does, it’ll be his chance to impress Slot and make up for lost time.
