The Georgian goalkeeper was brought in during the summer transfer window but is currently on loan at Valencia. With Alisson firmly established as the first-choice keeper, any new arrival would typically face an uphill battle to take his place.

However, Mamardashvili is undeterred, expressing his commitment to vying for a spot in the lineup, regardless of Alisson’s status. Despite speculation that Alisson may consider leaving the club at the end of the season, Mamardashvili asserts that he intends to provide strong competition for the Brazilian.

“I was drawn to the Liverpool project when the club’s representatives approached me,” Mamardashvili stated, according to El Desmarque. “I will fight for the starting goalkeeper position, even if the current keeper remains.”

With Alisson sidelined due to injury, Liverpool will soon experience life without him, as Caoimhin Kelleher steps in to guard the goal until Alisson’s return next month. This situation could pose a dilemma for manager Arne Slot if Alisson stays on and Mamardashvili arrives.

The future of Alisson, along with key players like Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil Van Dijk, remains uncertain. Salah is rumored to be considering a move to MLS, while Alexander-Arnold has attracted interest from Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Alisson has been linked to Bayern Munich as a potential replacement for Manuel Neuer.

Alisson’s contributions have been vital to Liverpool’s success, including their recent Premier League and Champions League victories.
