“I will only join on ONE CONDITION”: Benjamin Sesko has finally disclosed the sole factor that would lead him to terminate his contract in order to join Arsenal by January.
RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko is among Arsenal’s top transfer targets, with ongoing speculation about his future. The Slovenian international, who has been at Leipzig for just 12 months, has once again demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess, catching the attention of several Premier League clubs.
Along with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in the 20-year-old, and a move from Germany ahead of the 2024/25 season seems increasingly likely. To counter this, Leipzig has made a bold move by offering Sesko a new contract, aiming to keep him at the club until at least next summer.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal is pushing hard for Sesko’s signature, making him their top striker target. The Gunners have already initiated contact with Sesko’s camp, and his agent is well aware of their interest.
Although Newcastle’s Alexander Isak is also on Arsenal’s list, his price tag seems too steep, especially following Newcastle’s recent financial setback.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano hasn’t confirmed Arsenal’s final decision on Sesko but did reveal that the striker has already turned down two other offers. In his Thursday Daily Briefing, Romano mentioned that Sesko rejected moves to Saudi Arabia and also has a contract extension offer from RB Leipzig with a salary increase.
Romano noted that Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United are all monitoring the situation, but it ultimately depends on Sesko’s decision. His current contract, which runs until 2028, includes a release clause of €65 million (£55 million).
If Sesko agrees to the new deal, it’s unlikely that the release clause will remain, though a gentleman’s agreement could allow him to leave for a substantial fee the following summer.
