“Chelsea’s Bold Badge Tweak Set to Rile Up Arsenal and Tottenham Fans”

“Chelsea’s Sneaky Badge Update Sure to Stir Up Arsenal and Tottenham Fans”
Chelsea’s updated badge is sending a strong message that’s sure to provoke rival fans.
Chelsea have taken a jab at their London adversaries with a subtle badge tweak, certain to ruffle feathers across the capital.
London derbies are some of the most heated in the Premier League, with intense rivalries among the city’s clubs. With seven of the 20 teams in the 2024/25 Premier League hailing from London, debates over which club reigns supreme in the capital are fierce.
Now, Chelsea has added fuel to the fire with a provocative alteration to their badge, aimed squarely at local rivals like Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
In March 2024, Chelsea will mark their 120th anniversary, a major milestone the club plans to honor with a special emblem.
According to The Daily Mail, the designers of this new badge explained its intent to reinforce Chelsea’s standing as “London’s true club.”
To bring this vision to life, the club enlisted London-based agency Uncommon Creative Studio, who crafted the new design. It features Chelsea’s iconic blue lion above the letters “LDN,” a bold statement of their identity in the capital.
The anniversary badge won’t replace the club’s current emblem, as insiders stress that any permanent change would require fan consultation. It will, however, be used throughout the 120th anniversary celebrations.
Chelsea submitted the badge design to the UK Intellectual Property Office in August, allowing a two-month window for opposition. No challenges came from rival clubs or other parties.
On social media platform X, Uncommon Creative Studios described the design as “a new icon representing Chelsea FC as London’s true club.” This fresh visual identity will be rolled out across the club’s merchandise, stadium, and players throughout the season.
Fans can expect to see the badge on everything from shirts to scarves as Chelsea gears up for the anniversary.
