“Arne Slot Confesses ‘Wrong Choice’ Led to Family Staying Behind After Liverpool Transfer”

“Arne Slot Admits ‘Wrong Choice’ Left His Family Behind After Move to Liverpool”
Arne Slot has explained that his family has not yet joined him in Liverpool because his children are at crucial stages in their education.
After accepting his first role outside of the Netherlands earlier this year, replacing Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, Slot moved to Merseyside without his wife, Mirjam, and their children, Joel and Isa. He suggested that a decision on whether they will relocate to Liverpool will likely be made in 2025. “It depends on how this year goes,” Slot told Sky Sports. “Both of them are doing their exams, so it wasn’t the right choice to bring them over now. We’ll see how things work out for them, for me, and make a decision next year. But first, we need to keep winning so I can stay in the job!”
Slot has previously mentioned that outside of his coaching duties, his time is dedicated to his family. In an interview earlier this month, he shared what his routine looks like 24 hours before a game.
“Mostly, I focus on watching the opponent’s games and preparing my tactical meeting,” he said. “On match days, I hold a game-plan meeting where we reinforce the strategies we’ve worked on in training, showing the players what to expect and what we need from them.
“Once the meeting is done, I’m more relaxed because I’ve done my preparation. During the game, I’m ready to make adjustments if needed.
“I’m usually focused before games, so I prefer to spend that time either alone or with my wife and kids. I don’t like friends or extended family around on game days because my attention is on the match and the meeting I’m leading.”
