Slot, who took over from Jurgen Klopp, now faces his toughest test yet, with major fixtures looming against giants like Real Madrid and Manchester City. This weekend’s clash against Arsenal at the Emirates will be Liverpool’s biggest challenge so far this season, made more difficult as Slot confirmed a critical injury blow.
Liverpool was already bracing for the absence of key players like first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Harvey Elliott, with summer signing Federico Chiesa also in doubt.
