Regarding Chiesa’s difficulties since his arrival, Liverpool manager Arne Slot stated, “He missed the entire pre-season, which I’ve mentioned several times. Transitioning to a league that may have even higher intensity than Serie A makes it challenging for him to reach the intensity levels of his teammates.”
He continued, “It’s hard to determine, but it’s a significant disappointment for him to be in and out of training sessions consistently. I really feel for him.”
However, ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Arsenal, Slot provided an optimistic update on Chiesa. He noted, “I believe they are feeling well, but not quite ready to play for us this weekend. Federico might join us for training today or tomorrow, but Diogo definitely will not. As for Conor Bradley, we’ll see if he can train with us tomorrow.”
