Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shed light on the Manchester United forward’s situation amid growing speculation he could depart as early as the January transfer window.
Zirkzee, who joined United from Bologna over the summer in a £36.5 million deal, initially impressed by scoring on his debut. However, his impact has since stalled, sparking rumors of a potential exit.
Romano’s latest update confirms multiple clubs are showing interest in Zirkzee. According to Tuttosport, Serie A powerhouse Juventus is eyeing the young striker for a possible loan move to bolster their forward line in January. Although a permanent transfer would be financially challenging for Juventus, a loan could offer Zirkzee more playing time.
Yet, Romano recently reassured United fans that Zirkzee remains focused on his journey at Old Trafford, viewing it as a key step in his career. The feeling is mutual, as United is reportedly committed to nurturing his development, similar to how they supported Rasmus Hojlund after his 2023 arrival.
Since his July move, Zirkzee has made 12 appearances for United this season, with his only goal coming on his debut against Fulham. With Hojlund recently returning from injury, Zirkzee is likely to serve as a backup to the Dane.
