Enzo Maresca explained that the switch aimed to position Cole Palmer strategically, with the head coach wanting his key attacker in a particular area.
“I think it worked top,” Maresca said after the 2-1 victory.
“We tried something different: moving Reece to the left side, and for the first time this season, placing Cole in the left pocket to focus attacks on that side. Malo played in the right pocket, and I believe it worked well.”
