“Erik ten Hag Breaks Silence: Emotional Open Letter to Man Utd Fans After His Sacking”

“Erik ten Hag Delivers Heartfelt Open Letter to Man Utd Fans in His First Statement Since Being Sacked”
Erik ten Hag has made his first comments since being dismissed as Manchester United manager on Monday.
In an emotional open letter to supporters, the Dutchman reflected on his time at Old Trafford following his sacking, which came after more than two years in charge.
His final match was the 2-1 loss to West Ham on Sunday, a game that saw United concede a controversial late penalty.
On Friday, the club announced Ruben Amorim’s appointment as head coach, with the 39-year-old remaining with Sporting Lisbon until he officially takes over at Old Trafford on November 11.
Ten Hag had not publicly addressed his sacking until now, nor had a statement been released on his behalf following the announcement of his departure.
In his letter to fans, Ten Hag expressed gratitude for their unwavering support during his tenure.
He began by saying, “Let me start by thanking you. Thank you for always being there for the club. Whether it was an away game or a challenging match at Old Trafford, your support has been steadfast.
“The atmosphere at Old Trafford has been electric, thanks to you. I experienced it many times. Even during away games, hearing the United chants echo in opposing stadiums—whether in England, Europe, or during summer tours—gave both the team and me an incredible feeling.”
He continued, “I always cherished meeting Manchester United fans around the world. Strolling through the streets and chatting with supporters in England, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the USA inspired me and created a strong sense of unity. That’s what makes United fans truly special.
“I want to thank you for instilling this feeling in me and for your support. I also extend my gratitude to the staff across all departments for their unwavering assistance in both good times and bad.
“We secured two trophies—achievements I will treasure for the rest of my life.
“Of course, I dreamed of adding more trophies to the cabinet. Sadly, that dream has come to an end.
“I wish all Manchester United fans success, trophies, and glory. Your support and the warmth I received from everyone at the club made me feel at home. Thank you for this chapter in my life. Erik.”
