“‘I’ve Been Told…’ – Journalist Reveals Key Update on Arne Slot’s Transfer Intentions at Liverpool”
Liverpool manager Arne Slot is set to be active in the upcoming transfer windows.
The Dutch coach has earned the club’s backing to make new signings in the new year, having significantly raised the team’s standards despite spending relatively little in the summer transfer window. In his first season in charge, Slot has guided Liverpool to the top of the league, proving he can challenge the Premier League’s elite.
The club is expected to make a few additions next year, with one key target being Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez for the left-back position.
However, James Pearce of The Athletic has clarified that Liverpool currently have no interest in signing Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. Despite earlier links, particularly when Jurgen Klopp showed interest in the Frenchman before his move to Madrid, Pearce states that there is nothing concrete at this stage. He added on the Walk On Podcast: “There’s been a lot of talk about Tchouameni, but I’ve been told there’s nothing concrete. A lot will depend on how Liverpool fares before January, but Slot has always emphasized the need for two players per position, which he has now.”
Although the links to Tchouameni may not hold weight, Liverpool are still focused on strengthening their squad. Brentford’s Bryan Mbuemo is among the other players the club is reportedly eyeing for future additions.
Securing Tchouameni from Real Madrid would be a challenge, given his importance in the squad, especially with the retirement of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric taking a more reduced role. Nonetheless, with Real Madrid’s continued title ambitions, convincing Tchouameni to leave would be a tough task for Liverpool.
