The 32-year-old is in the final year of his contract, with no new deal agreed yet. If no extension is signed, Salah will be able to negotiate with non-Premier League clubs starting January 1, 2025.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Salah has been in excellent form this season, with eight goals and six assists in 11 league appearances. Liverpool currently lead the Premier League, five points ahead of second-place Manchester City as they approach game week 12.

On Thursday, Salah posted a mysterious story on Instagram, featuring a passage in Arabic. A translation shared on Twitter read:

“Research shows that most human decisions are based on emotional, rather than logical, factors. Often, we feel good about something, make a decision based on that feeling, and can’t always explain why we did it. We just feel it was a good idea at the time.”

It continued, “20% of our decisions depend on logical analysis, while 80% are influenced by emotional convictions.”

It’s unclear if the post relates to his current situation at Anfield, but fans are eager for clarity on his future.

Salah is one of three key Liverpool players whose contracts expire at the end of the season, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

In September, following a 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, Salah shared an update on his future: “I had a good summer and a long time to stay positive because, as you know, it’s my last year at the club. I just want to enjoy it and not think about it.”

He added, “I feel free to play football, and then we’ll see what happens next year. I was coming to the game today thinking it could be my last time. Nobody has spoken to me about a new contract yet, so I’m just playing this season and we’ll see at the end.”

Salah concluded, “It’s not up to me, but nobody has talked to me about a contract with the club. We’ll see.”
