However, Sheeran’s appearance sparked backlash from Manchester United fans on social media, with many criticizing the interruption as disrespectful. One fan commented, “That was incredibly rude from Ed Sheeran. Amorim should’ve walked away.” Another added, “This was embarrassing from both Ed and Sky.”
Despite the incident, Amorim focused on the positives from his debut. He emphasized the need for patience and belief, saying, “The players are intelligent and need to trust their abilities. Today wasn’t the result we wanted, but we’ll improve.”
Manchester United will look to bounce back on Thursday when they host Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League at Old Trafford.
