The father of a former Liverpool player has stirred up controversy among fans of his son’s current club with a bold message on Instagram.

The 22-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium, scoring just twice in 14 appearances and starting only two Premier League matches, according to Transfermarkt.

Carvalho’s father voices frustration on Instagram
Fabio Carvalho had featured in every Premier League match for Brentford this season until their trip to Merseyside last weekend, where he remained an unused substitute during their goalless draw against Everton.

When Brentford’s official Instagram account posted the result, his father, Victor Carvalho, made his feelings clear in the comments, advising bluntly: “Son, you need to get out [of] that club.”

An up-and-down career so far
Carvalho, who initially impressed at Liverpool in 2022, struggled to cement his place under Jurgen Klopp, leading to a move to Brentford earlier this year—a transfer that now appears to have been a smart financial decision for the Reds.

Despite a successful loan spell at Hull City last season, where he scored nine goals in 20 games, Carvalho has found it difficult to establish himself under Thomas Frank at Brentford.
