Liverpool manager Arne Slot has shared insights into his conversations with former boss Jurgen Klopp but insists the title race is not a topic they discuss.

Slot revealed that while he keeps in touch with Klopp occasionally, their discussions don’t include managing the title challenge. Since taking over, the Dutchman has focused on establishing his own approach at Anfield, making subtle tactical adjustments while building on Klopp’s strong foundation.

After 26 Premier League games, Liverpool holds an eight-point lead at the top, though they have played one more match than second-place Arsenal. This situation is similar to last season when the Reds were five points ahead of Manchester City at the same stage.

Speaking before the crucial clash with City, Slot emphasized the uniqueness of this season, noting that many players in his squad haven’t been part of a title race before. While there may be lessons to learn from past experiences, he believes each campaign is different and comparisons to previous seasons aren’t always useful.
