Liverpool informed of the price to sign Europa League winner who has previously triumphed at Anfield.

Liverpool Learn Ederson’s Price Tag Amid Continued Interest
Liverpool have discovered how much it would cost to sign midfielder Ederson, who has been on FSG’s radar for several months.
The Reds were first linked with the Atalanta star in January last year, and scouts from Merseyside have monitored him in Champions League matches this season. They also had a firsthand look when he helped Gian Piero Gasperini’s side secure a 3-0 victory at Anfield last April before winning the Europa League.
Liverpool Informed of €60m Asking Price
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool remain interested in the Brazilian international, though Manchester United are also in the race. Both clubs have recently inquired about his availability, prompting Atalanta to set a minimum valuation of €60m (£50.3m)—a 50% increase from the reported figures when LFC first expressed interest 14 months ago.
Is Ederson Worth a £50m Investment?
Liverpool’s long-standing interest suggests their recruitment team sees him as a strong addition to Arne Slot’s squad. However, his underlying stats on FBref show he only ranks among the top 25% of midfielders in one key area—progressive passes, where he places in the 82nd percentile with 6.59 per 90 minutes.
Given the current midfield options at Anfield, Ederson may not represent a significant upgrade over Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, or Dominik Szoboszlai. A £50m investment might not be justifiable, especially when strengthening other areas—such as center-back, full-back, and potentially the attack—could be a higher priority, particularly with Mohamed Salah’s contract situation uncertain.
That said, Liverpool’s recruitment has been more successful than not in recent years. If Slot believes Ederson would be a perfect fit, the club may trust his judgment.
