Khvicha Kvaratskhelia acknowledges the intense atmosphere at Anfield and describes PSG’s dressing room reaction as ‘unfair’ following their defeat to Liverpool.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia acknowledges that Paris Saint-Germain face a challenging night at Anfield but remains confident in his team’s ability to overcome Liverpool in their Champions League last-16 second leg. The Reds hold a 1-0 advantage after Harvey Elliott’s late goal secured victory in Paris despite PSG dominating the match with 27 shots, nine of which were saved by an outstanding Alisson Becker.

With Anfield renowned for its electric European atmosphere, Kvaratskhelia, who previously played there with Napoli, understands the difficulty of the task ahead. However, he insists PSG are prepared for the challenge and will have support from their traveling fans.

“We know what to expect,” he said. “The atmosphere will be great, but our focus is on football. Our goal is to win. Liverpool will be more confident at home with their fans behind them, so it will be tougher than in Paris. But we will play our game and see who advances.”

Despite reports that PSG players were unimpressed by Liverpool in the first leg, Kvaratskhelia revealed that his teammates were frustrated with the result, believing their performance deserved better.

“We were disappointed because we played great football but didn’t win. It felt unfair,” he admitted. “But the next day, we smiled, worked harder, and prepared to play at the same level. If we do, we can win and prove ourselves.”

Looking ahead, the Georgian winger emphasized PSG’s determination: “It will be difficult to dominate Liverpool, especially here, but we will give everything. The chances are 50/50—we just need confidence and focus to show we are here to win.”
