Mikel Arteta is optimistic that Bukayo Saka will return from injury in time for Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid.

Speaking to Goal, Arteta shared that Saka is set to resume training with the team next week and will hopefully increase his involvement with the ball—passing, shooting, and running. While Saka has already been working individually on the pitch, the next step is to gradually introduce him to more competitive training and assess his response.

“Saka is progressing well and getting closer to a return,” Arteta said. “We’ll monitor how he reacts to team training and see how quickly he can regain match sharpness.”

So far this season, Saka has played 24 matches for Arsenal, scoring nine goals and providing 13 assists. The Gunners will face Real Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final ties on April 8 and 16.
