Liverpool have observed one of their players displaying behavior similar to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s and fear he may also be on the verge of joining Real Madrid.

Liverpool are reportedly growing uneasy as one of their players appears to be mirroring the behaviour of Trent Alexander-Arnold, raising concerns that he could also be tempted by a move to Real Madrid.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Alexander-Arnold would leave Anfield at the end of the season. The defender made the announcement through an emotional video shared on social media. During Liverpool’s game against Arsenal—their first since the announcement—he was met with boos when he came on as a substitute for Conor Bradley. Widespread reports suggest that Alexander-Arnold is poised to join Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid once his contract expires.

Now, attention has turned to another Liverpool defender, Ibrahima Konate, who may be following a similar trajectory. The Frenchman’s current contract runs until 2026, but he has yet to agree on an extension.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Konate is currently in talks over a new deal with Liverpool, but negotiations have stalled over key details. Romano also noted that Real Madrid are actively seeking a new central defender this summer and that Konate is among the names being considered.

Spanish outlet MARCA reports that Liverpool are sensing a familiar unease with Konate’s current attitude—similar to the feelings they had when Alexander-Arnold began distancing himself from contract discussions. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are said to be nearing an agreement to sign Bournemouth’s young talent Dean Huijsen, with the final stages of the deal reportedly being completed in Madrid.

Madrid return to La Liga action this weekend with a match against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
