Sky Sports journalist: Liverpool have ‘initiated contact’ to sign Premier League standout

Liverpool are actively working to strengthen their squad ahead of next season, with Arne Slot already making preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Following their domestic success, the Reds are now setting their sights on a strong Champions League run next season and have begun identifying key transfer targets.

They are reportedly close to securing a deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who is viewed as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Regarding the left-back position, Liverpool have been strongly linked with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, and recent reports indicate that they are intensifying their pursuit of the Hungarian defender.

Slot moves for another target
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have made contact with Bournemouth as they look to finalize a deal for Kerkez.

Plettenberg shared the following update on X:

Kerkez a strong fit for Liverpool
Liverpool have been monitoring Kerkez for some time, viewing him as both a challenger to Andy Robertson and a potential long-term successor.

His standout performances for Bournemouth this season, particularly under Andoni Iraola, have caught attention due to his balance of attacking drive and defensive discipline.

In addition to Kerkez, Liverpool are also eyeing Brighton forward Joao Pedro, who could be brought in as a possible replacement for Darwin Nunez at Anfield.
