Liverpool offer deal to prolific 90-goal talent, son of former Premier League fan favorite

Liverpool have tabled a new contract offer to 18-year-old Keyrol Figueroa, a prolific youth striker and son of former Premier League favorite Maynor Figueroa.

The Reds are coming off a sensational 2024/25 season under Arne Slot, having secured their 20th English league title. In the wake of the campaign’s conclusion, the club released its retained list, confirming the departure of several academy players, including Dominic Corness, Louis Enahoro-Marcus, and Harry Evers.

Among the young talents offered new deals is Figueroa, who has impressed by scoring 90 goals in a single calendar year at youth level. He currently represents the United States at youth international level and previously signed his first professional deal with Liverpool last year. He is expected to join the U.S. U20 squad later this month for matches in Egypt against Norway and Colombia.

Should he agree to the new terms, Figueroa could become part of the senior squad next season and continue his father’s Premier League legacy—Maynor Figueroa made over 200 top-flight appearances and famously scored from his own half while at Wigan Athletic.

Keyrol has drawn inspiration from legendary strikers such as Didier Drogba, Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez, and Fernando Torres, as well as former Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge. Speaking about his playing style, he described himself as a powerful, well-rounded attacker capable of scoring with both feet and his head, and comfortable playing with his back to goal.
