Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa could be on the move again this summer, with Napoli emerging as a potential destination, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà.

In his CaughtOffside column, Pedullà revealed that Napoli had previously shown interest in Chiesa while he was still at Juventus. Though the Italian international eventually made the switch to Liverpool, things haven’t gone smoothly for him at Anfield.

Now, with Napoli looking to strengthen their squad under new manager Antonio Conte, Chiesa has resurfaced as a target. His lack of regular minutes in the Premier League has raised questions about his future, and a return to Serie A could be on the cards.

Pedullà explained: “Napoli are gearing up for a major summer window. After spending around €130–140 million last year, they’re ready to go even bigger. Kevin De Bruyne looks set to be their first big arrival, with a medical already in the works. But that won’t be the end. Sam Beukema is also on their radar, and so is Federico Chiesa. Conte has long admired him. Napoli tried to sign him before, but he went to Liverpool instead. His time there hasn’t worked out—he’s had limited chances under Arne Slot, and that’s not expected to improve. A Serie A return, especially under Conte, is now a real possibility.”

Chiesa’s move to Liverpool only happened last summer, but it’s becoming clear that he might not be part of the club’s long-term plans. Given the fierce competition for attacking roles, with players like Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo ahead of him, Chiesa could be one of the first to be offloaded as Liverpool reshuffle their squad.
