Anthony Gordon is valued at approximately £75 million and has become one of the most coveted players this summer.

The English winger was linked with a move to Liverpool last summer, but Newcastle United succeeded in retaining him. He played a crucial role in helping the Magpies qualify for the Champions League and end their trophy drought.

Gordon reportedly prefers to join Liverpool, despite serious interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their left flank for the upcoming season. According to Graeme Bailey from TBR Football, Gordon’s heart is set on Liverpool, his childhood club.

Bailey remarked, “One day, I think he will probably end up at Liverpool. Will it be this summer? I doubt it. But Liverpool is his preferred option.” Both Chelsea and Arsenal are actively seeking to upgrade their left side and have Gordon on their radar.

Since joining Newcastle from Everton in January 2023, Gordon has become a key player under Eddie Howe, noted for his work ethic, pressing, and attacking style. He candidly described his playing style: “I know I’m a nightmare for anyone that I play against.”

While it appears Gordon will remain at St. James’ Park for now, his aspiration to wear Liverpool’s colors may still come to fruition, even if not this transfer window. Additionally, Liverpool is also in a favorable position to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
