Liverpool has announced that Harvey Davies has signed a new contract with the club and will join Crawley Town on loan for the 2025/26 season.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper, who has been with Liverpool since U9, is set for a second consecutive season in League Two after a successful stint at Crewe Alexandra, where he made 32 appearances last season.

Davies is regarded as one of the Academy’s standout talents, having been included in a senior matchday squad for a Champions League game against RB Leipzig in 2021. Since then, he has been part of 18 senior matchday squads, gaining valuable experience training with first-team goalkeepers and coaches.

James Pearce confirmed a few weeks ago that Davies signed a new contract, indicating the club’s belief in his potential as a solid option for the future.

This move allows Liverpool to safeguard the long-term value of one of their own while giving him a chance for regular senior football. The official club update stated, “Harvey Davies has signed a new contract with Liverpool FC and joined Crawley Town on loan for the forthcoming season.”

This decision follows several changes in the goalkeeping department this summer, including Caoimhin Kelleher’s permanent transfer to Brentford and Armin Pecsi’s arrival from Hungary as part of the club’s next-generation rebuilding efforts.

Davies’ departure intensifies competition among the young goalkeepers, especially with Vitezslav Jaros also heading to Ajax on loan, clarifying the situation ahead of the new season.

This comes as Liverpool awaits the signing of Milos Kerkez, who reportedly completed his medical nearly a week ago. The loan is expected to help Davies build on his momentum from the previous season and position him for a potential backup role at Anfield upon his return.

For now, the focus remains on securing consistent playing time in a competitive setting, which Crawley is expected to provide.
