Real Madrid has given Trent Alexander-Arnold a new nickname just weeks after he started his career in Spain.

Real Madrid has already given Trent Alexander-Arnold a new nickname after their 1-0 victory over Juventus in the Club World Cup round of 16 on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old player assisted Gonzalo Garcia’s headed goal, helping Real Madrid advance to a quarter-final match against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Following the game, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois described the England international as “horrible” to face in training. Speaking to DAZN, Courtois said, “He could have already scored a few in these four games. His pre-assist against Pachuca was also impressive. In training, he’s tough; his kicking is exceptional. His free-kicks and corner kicks are on another level.”

He added, “I haven’t seen anyone with his quality of kicking and crossing, which can be a nightmare for a goalkeeper. But it keeps me alert and motivated to improve both him and myself.”

Head coach Xabi Alonso also commented after the win, stating, “We were caught off guard by [Kenan] Yildiz’s positioning in the middle. Everything takes time, but I believe in him [Alexander-Arnold]. He’s a dependable full-back, just like [Dani] Carvajal. We will improve collectively before focusing on individual skills.”

According to the club’s social media, the 26-year-old has a new nickname. After the match, they posted two photos of Trent with teammate Arda Guler, captioning it “Trent Asistencias-Arnold.”

Alexander-Arnold’s name has drawn attention since his transfer to Real Madrid. At his official unveiling on June 12, he explained that he chose to wear ‘Trent’ on his match shirt instead of ‘Alexander-Arnold’ to simplify things.

“It’s a straightforward reason,” he said at the press conference. “When I travel in Europe, people often get confused by my full name since it’s double-barrelled. Some call me Arnold, others Alexander, Alex, or Trent. So I thought it would be easier to just go with Trent, which is my name.”
