Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is reportedly planning to return to Merseyside earlier than expected in light of the heartbreaking deaths of his teammate Diogo Jota and Jota’s brother, Andre Silva.

As reported by Egyptian outlet Yallakora, Salah is set to cut short his summer break and head back to England on Friday, a few days before Liverpool’s pre-season training is due to begin.

The football community continues to grieve after it was confirmed that Jota and Andre lost their lives in a car crash in Spain on Thursday, July 3.

The brothers were said to be on their way to Santander to catch a ferry to the UK. Jota, who had recently undergone minor lung surgery, was advised not to travel by air. His return to England came less than two weeks after marrying his longtime partner, Rute, in Porto.
