Eberechi Eze has decided on his preferred move as transfer discussions prepare to speed up.
Arsenal have already added six new signings this summer, but Mikel Arteta remains keen to strengthen the squad further before the Premier League season kicks off.
Arsenal begin their Premier League campaign on Friday night with hopes of finally lifting the title after three straight seasons as runners-up, most recently behind Liverpool. Determined to go one step further, Mikel Arteta has overseen an active summer transfer window, sealing six signings. The most recent is Viktor Gyokeres, whose arrival ends a lengthy chase and provides the striker Arteta has long wanted.
Joining Gyokeres are Noni Madueke and Kepa from Chelsea, Martin Zubimendi and Cristhian Mosquera from Spain, and former Brentford captain Christian Norgaard. More signings remain possible before the deadline, though several departures are also expected.
Eze deal on the clock
Arsenal’s priority for another attacking option is Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, but his £68m release clause expires on Friday. Once it lapses, Palace can demand more. With almost £200m already spent, Arsenal must generate funds before making a bid—giving rivals Tottenham a chance to intervene. Even so, The Guardian reports Eze would prefer a move to the Emirates if Arsenal can move quickly.
Vieira sale could fund move
A potential solution may come via Fabio Vieira’s departure. Stuttgart, searching for an Enzo Milliot replacement after his move to Saudi Arabia, have opened talks for Vieira. His sale could cover a large portion of an Eze deal.
Nelson interest fades
Efforts to offload Reiss Nelson have stalled. After a loan spell at Fulham ended early through injury, the Cottagers were expected to make an offer. However, The Standard says they’ve turned their attention to Shakhtar’s Kevin, launching a record bid, leaving Nelson without a likely buyer for now.
