Thomas Frank has confirmed that Yves Bissouma will feature in Tottenham’s matchday squad against Burnley, following his omission from the UEFA Super Cup due to disciplinary reasons.

The Mali international was left out of the trip to Udine for the final against PSG, with Frank revealing at the time that repeated lateness had led to the midfielder facing consequences.

This is not the first disciplinary issue involving Bissouma since joining Spurs three years ago, prompting some fans to urge the club to sell him.

However, Frank appears satisfied with the 28-year-old’s reaction to the punishment. Preparing for his first Premier League match as Tottenham boss, the 51-year-old confirmed: “Bissouma was a situation. I addressed it. There was a consequence. Bissouma will be in the squad tomorrow.”
