Liverpool didn’t just shake up the North East — they sent shockwaves across the country with their dramatic stoppage-time winner over Newcastle at St. James’ Park last night.

Arne Slot’s men saw their 2-0 advantage wiped out as the hosts drew level, only for 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha to pop up in the 100th minute and secure all three points with his first senior goal, courtesy of a Mohamed Salah assist.

The youngster had barely been on the field before sending the 3,000 travelling Reds into sheer delirium with his strike.

While Ngumoha and his teammates celebrated wildly in the corner, captain Virgil van Dijk found his own way to wind down the clock. As Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope launched the ball forward for the restart, the Dutchman strode across, intercepted it, and promptly thumped it into the stand behind the goal — straight towards the home crowd.
