Offer lodged: Liverpool table £40m deal with high chance of approval

Liverpool have reportedly tabled a £40m package to sign England defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

The offer, believed to include £36m up front plus £4m in add-ons, is said to be close to Palace’s valuation and could be accepted soon, according to Football Insider. Guehi, who has just one year left on his Selhurst Park contract, has been one of the Premier League’s standout centre-backs and appears a strong fit for the Reds’ back line.

With Ibrahima Konate also entering the final year of his deal and attracting interest from Real Madrid, Liverpool may be preparing for a potential replacement. Losing Konate would be a setback, but Guehi is seen as a high-quality option to fill the void. The Daily Mirror previously suggested Palace were already eyeing Joel Ordonez as Guehi’s successor.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s transfer activity doesn’t stop there. Alongside their pursuit of Guehi, they are pushing for an ambitious move for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. Reports claim the Reds have submitted a British-record £130m bid to bring the Swede to Anfield.

If successful, Isak and Guehi would join earlier arrivals Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong—making this one of the most remarkable transfer windows in Liverpool’s history.
