James Maddison claims Tottenham had one of the Premier League’s greatest finishers ever — and it wasn’t Harry Kane or Heung-Min Son.

Among those shortlisted are Jermaine Defoe, Teddy Sheringham, and Les Ferdinand, all of whom delivered standout performances during their time at Spurs and are now being recognised among the league’s elite.

Current Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has shared his thoughts on Jermaine Defoe’s nomination, praising the former striker’s finishing ability. Maddison described Defoe as one of the most natural goalscorers in Premier League history, stating on his Instagram story: “One of the best natural finishers the league’s ever seen, in my honest opinion.”

While Defoe’s legacy is well established, Maddison has also begun to make his mark at Tottenham. The 28-year-old played a pivotal role in the club’s Europa League triumph last season, helping end a 17-year trophy drought and securing just the fourth major honour in Spurs’ history.
