Arne Slot Admits He Could Offload Liverpool Star ‘Tomorrow’ for £100m

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has singled out one of his key men for special praise, suggesting the club could sell him “tomorrow” for £100 million.
The Reds made major moves in the summer transfer window, breaking records to bring in Alexander Isak for £125m and Florian Wirtz for £116m. Isak is still waiting for his debut but could feature in Wednesday’s Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid, while Wirtz has started every league game so far, though he is still adjusting to the pace of English football.
Speaking ahead of that clash, Slot was asked about Wirtz’s adaptation but shifted focus to the wider scrutiny of Liverpool’s spending.
“There’s so much focus on our new signings, especially from pundits who favour other clubs,” Slot said. “They keep talking about £450m spent but always forget we sold £300m worth of players. Yes, we’ve invested heavily, but these players are lining up alongside others already worth huge amounts.”
Slot then highlighted Dominik Szoboszlai as proof of value in his squad, claiming his price tag has soared since joining.
“If we sell Dominik Szoboszlai tomorrow, he’d be worth £100m as well,” he stated.
Signed from RB Leipzig in 2023 for £60m, Szoboszlai has quickly become a cornerstone at Anfield. The Hungarian midfielder has featured in every league game this season, even stepping in at right-back against Newcastle, Arsenal, and Burnley—scoring the decisive goal versus Arsenal in the process.
According to Transfermarkt, the 24-year-old is currently valued at around £69m, but with 99 Liverpool appearances already under his belt and his form improving, his market value is expected to rise well beyond that figure.
