Slot wrote that after the sudden loss of Jota, Everton “reached out through both words and actions to show they stood with us.” He highlighted that manager David Moyes and striker Beto paid tribute at Anfield, calling it a reflection of the “mutual respect that must always be valued.”
Jota, who passed away with his brother Andre Silva in a car accident in Spain in July 2025, was a vital figure for Liverpool. His final goal for the club came in a 1-0 victory over Everton at Anfield.
