Full of energy – Thomas Frank believes he may have discovered Tottenham’s upcoming standout attacker.

While it wasn’t a standout performance for Tottenham Hotspur, earning a point on the road against Brighton is a result many Spurs fans will gladly accept, especially considering the team faced the prospect of defeat before Xavi Simons’s introduction.

Tottenham now sit among the contenders chasing behind heavy favorites and reigning champions Liverpool in the Premier League. With a few more true breakout stars emerging from their pool of young attacking talents, Spurs could soon compete with the star-studded squads at the top of English football.

In his search for Tottenham’s next standout player, Thomas Frank started Wilson Odobert on the left wing, rewarding the Frenchman for his strong performances in training. Although Odobert’s statistical output was limited—he created no chances and completed no dribbles—Frank saw enough positive signs to praise the young winger.

Frank told Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, “Happy with it, I must admit. I thought he looked lively. Clearly, it looked like they were a little bit afraid of him. So he got time to turn and run forward. I think he produced some crosses, some good opportunities. He was also involved in a goal, worked hard. So a good first start.”

Odobert joined Spurs from Burnley for £25 million last year, and there are high hopes that the 20-year-old attacking midfielder and winger can make an impact in the Premier League. He was a key player in the Championship, and even in his first season at Tottenham, he has shown glimpses of being a game-changer with his skillful touches and dribbling in tight spaces.

Frank believes Odobert has the potential to develop into a top Premier League winger, capable of more than just playing as a number 10 between the lines. While Odobert still has much to prove, Frank’s track record of turning young talents into stars at Brentford suggests he could guide the Frenchman toward the next level.

Odobert is already a known talent, earning starts and impressing for France at youth level, a team notoriously difficult to break into. Frank’s high assessment of Odobert indicates that the U21 forward is the next player he aims to develop into a breakout star for Tottenham.
