I Stays In Chelsea With The Help Of Former Liverpool Player – Levi Colwill

Well, this is something that you didn’t expect to read this morning – it’s certainly something I didn’t expect to read.

We all know the situation from the summer. Chelsea defender Levi Colwill came back from his loan spell at Brighton and there was all sorts of speculation about his future.

Brighton wanted him back on a permanent deal, and even Liverpool were being linked. Much was being said and reported but in the end Colwill extended his Chelsea contract and stayed at the club. He’s since played every game since under Mauricio Pochettino.

There is a surprise reason, or at least a small part of it, that helped Colwill decide to stay at Chelsea, and that reason is former Liverpool player Adam Lallana who of course is now at Brighton.

Colwill said Lallana had good things to say about Pochettino and that was what helped him make his mind up on his future!

In words cited by The Daily Mirror, Colwill said: “I have had conversations with Adam. And he told me about how much of a good guy he (Pochettino) was and he thinks he is a really good manager and I took that on board when I was making my decision.

“When I finally met him (Pochettino), I realised everything Adam said was true.”
