Tottenham reach verdict on Richarlison’s future following new Dominic Solanke update
Richarlison’s Tottenham future remains uncertain as Thomas Frank weighs his options for a long-term striker.
During the summer, the Brazilian’s future looked in doubt amid strong interest from Saudi Arabia, according to Football Insider. However, he stayed at Spurs and has since become the main man up front following Dominic Solanke’s injury.
With the January transfer window approaching and his contract running until June 2027, Tottenham face a big decision on whether to keep or sell their number nine. For now, though, Richarlison is expected to stay, with sources suggesting the club has no plans to sanction a mid-season exit.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Saudi Arabia remains Richarlison’s “most likely” future destination, though any move would likely happen next summer.
“He’s been important for Thomas Frank this season,” Borson noted. “He’s the first-choice striker, especially with Solanke injured, and he seems to be enjoying his football — three goals and an assist in seven Premier League matches. I don’t see Spurs pushing him out in January.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s pursuit of Porto forward Samu Aghehowa depends on the potential departure of either Richarlison or Solanke. Sources revealed on 11 October that Spurs are tracking the Spanish talent, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.
Aghehowa would reportedly only consider joining Tottenham if he’s guaranteed the starting striker role — something that remains uncertain at present.
