Liverpool manager Arne Slot has delivered concerning updates regarding injuries to Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong.

Slot revealed uncertainty over the severity of Isak’s problem after the Swedish striker was withdrawn at half-time during the 5–1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt due to a groin issue. He noted that managing the forward’s fitness has been challenging, given Isak’s three-month layoff over the summer.

The 26-year-old, who forced a move from Newcastle United to Liverpool by refusing to train, seems to be suffering from the effects of missing an entire pre-season, which now appears to be taking a toll.

Meanwhile, Frimpong’s situation looks even more concerning. Slot confirmed that the Dutch defender’s injury could keep him out for several weeks.

These setbacks come at a crucial time for Liverpool. Despite their convincing victory in Frankfurt, the team has endured a poor run of form, losing four of their previous five fixtures. With a congested schedule ahead, Slot will be eager to have both players return to full fitness as soon as possible.
