Dominic Solanke’s latest injury update has been described as “unfortunate,” with fresh details emerging about the situation at Tottenham Hotspur.

Dominic Solanke arrived at Tottenham as the long-term successor to Harry Kane following an outstanding season with Bournemouth, where he scored 19 goals in 37 appearances. However, his time in North London has been hampered by persistent injury problems, preventing Thomas Frank from deploying him consistently at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While Solanke will be eager to return to action, it remains unclear when that opportunity will come. There have been frustrating developments surrounding his situation at the club, with uncertainty continuing over his recovery timeline.

John Wenham has admitted that he does not know when Solanke will be available again but stressed how important the striker is to Spurs. Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham explained that the club has been unlucky with Solanke, highlighting his strong performances last season. He pointed out that the forward scored in major fixtures against Liverpool both home and away, as well as against Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City, underlining his importance to the side. Wenham described Solanke as Tottenham’s best striker and suggested that earlier criticism aimed at Ange Postecoglou was misplaced.

He added that Solanke featured in pre-season against Reading and came off the bench in the 2-0 win over Manchester City, but has barely been seen since, a situation he described as deeply frustrating.

Tottenham now face an important Premier League encounter against Crystal Palace, with Frank keen to halt a run of two consecutive defeats. However, Solanke is expected to miss out once again, with Frank’s pre-match update offering little encouragement regarding his availability. The coach also referenced Dejan Kulusevski during his comments, but provided no clear indication on Solanke’s return.

With neither Frank nor Wenham able to offer clarity on when the 28-year-old will be back, the ongoing uncertainty remains a growing concern for Tottenham supporters.
