Liverpool turned down as Real Madrid star shows no interest in a move to the Merseyside club.

France international Eduardo Camavinga has signalled that he plans to stay at Real Madrid for the foreseeable future, despite ongoing interest from Liverpool, according to TEAMtalk.

The 23-year-old has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time, with speculation suggesting the club could explore a move during the January transfer window. Those ideas, however, have now been effectively ruled out.

Camavinga is said to be happy in Madrid and has no desire to leave the club midway through the season. Although Liverpool remain in touch with his representatives, they have been told clearly that a winter transfer is off the table.

That means any genuine move would have to wait until at least the summer, and even then, Liverpool’s chances appear remote. Real Madrid view Camavinga as a crucial part of both their current setup and long-term plans. His ability to play across midfield, and even fill in at left-back, has made him an invaluable asset.

With a contract running until 2029, Madrid are under no pressure to sell and would be in a very strong negotiating position. Any deal would likely require a fee well north of £80 million, reflecting his age, importance and long-term contract.

Liverpool’s interest stems from a desire to strengthen and refresh their midfield. Arne Slot is eager to add quality after a challenging season marked by inconsistency, underperforming signings and signs of decline among senior players. Injury issues, including a long-term problem for Alexander Isak, and uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah off the pitch have only added to the pressure.

Midfield reinforcement remains a top priority for Slot, and Camavinga fits the profile of the energetic, press-resistant player Liverpool admire. Still, the club have accepted that a January move is impossible and are now expected to turn their attention to more attainable options as they look to regain stability and momentum.
