Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an unexpected enquiry about a West Ham United star valued at around £25 million.
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an unexpected approach for West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, according to talkSPORT.
The Dutch wide man is valued at around £25 million and recently impressed against Spurs, scoring in West Ham’s 2-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend.
Spurs have already invested heavily this month, completing the signing of Conor Gallagher in a deal worth roughly £35 million, and they could continue their spending with a surprise move for Summerville.
West Ham only signed the 24-year-old from Leeds United in the summer of 2024 for £25 million plus add-ons, meaning the Hammers would not make a profit if Tottenham matched their current valuation.
However, West Ham are understood to be reluctant to sell during this transfer window, with Spurs only likely to push forward if they receive encouragement from the London rivals.
Summerville has been one of West Ham’s standout performers in recent weeks, contributing two goals and two assists in his last three appearances. He also appears to be thriving under Nuno Espirito Santo, celebrating his goal against Spurs alongside his manager.
Tottenham’s attacking options are currently stretched, with James Maddison, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski all sidelined through injury. Dominic Solanke has returned, while Mathys Tel has been excluded from the Champions League squad and could seek a January loan move.
Randal Kolo Muani has also struggled for form, with reports from France suggesting he may consider cutting short his loan and returning to Paris Saint-Germain.
As a result, strengthening the forward line is seen as an attractive option for the Spurs hierarchy, regardless of who is in charge.
In terms of output, Summerville has registered six goals and seven assists in 70 Premier League appearances. While those numbers are modest and his performances have been inconsistent, Nuno clearly believes in his ability and feels he can make a major impact.
Speaking in October, Nuno said: “I think he can be really important. With the position he plays, he has to make the difference with his speed and talent. I was really pleased with him and believe he can give us big help in the future.”
Meanwhile, talkSPORT reports that Frank will remain in charge for Tottenham’s upcoming Premier League clash against Burnley. This follows one of Spurs’ strongest performances of the season, a 2-0 Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund that maintained their perfect home record in the competition.
While his longer-term future remains uncertain, Frank is set to lead the team at Turf Moor — and Summerville could yet emerge as a Spurs player before the transfer window closes.
