Tottenham eye a low-cost second-division defender as a potential replacement for Radu Dragusin.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing a bargain move for Las Palmas defender Mika Mármol in the January transfer window, as uncertainty continues to surround Radu Dragusin’s future at the club.

Dragusin is expected to leave Tottenham in the second half of the season, with AS Roma and Napoli both showing strong interest in the Romanian centre-back. Napoli, now managed by former Spurs boss Antonio Conte, have made enquiries, while Roma are pushing for a loan deal with an option to buy, dependent on certain conditions. Tottenham are believed to value Dragusin at around €20 million (£17.3m, $23.3m), with reports in Italy claiming the player himself is keen on a move to Roma.

As a result, Spurs are exploring a potential deal for former Barcelona defender Mika Mármol. According to Sports Boom, Tottenham are interested in signing Mármol if Dragusin departs. The 24-year-old, who can operate as both a centre-back and left-back, is currently with Las Palmas and is out of contract at the end of the season, making a renewal unlikely.

Mármol has a reported release clause of around £10 million (€11.5m, $13.4m), though Mundo Deportivo claims the clause stands at €10 million (£8.7m, $11.7m). Las Palmas were relegated from La Liga last season and now compete in Spain’s second division. Mármol has made 86 appearances for the club, registering two goals and three assists.

Barcelona retain 50 percent of Mármol’s economic rights, meaning they would benefit financially from any transfer. Mundo Deportivo reported earlier this month that Las Palmas already view his departure as inevitable, with club president Miguel Ángel Ramírez admitting that renewing his contract would be difficult due to interest from bigger teams.

While Sports Boom remains the only outlet linking Tottenham with Mármol, Barcelona are reportedly unlikely to pursue the defender in January, potentially clearing the way for Spurs to complete a deal.

Elsewhere, Tottenham are also said to be preparing a bid for a West Ham United winger as they aim to strengthen their squad. In addition, the club is reportedly considering a major move for a Bundesliga player, while discussions are ongoing between Tottenham and West Ham regarding a possible swap deal.
